When I was a little girl the nuns were very much into upcycling although in those days it was called reusing.
We used to take three or four cardboard centers from the toilette paper and cover them with either felt or some fabric remnants first on the inside. Glue was the medium to hold the lining together. Then we would join them by using scotch tape and then carefully cover the outside with some pretty fabric or felt. A circle the same size of the opening was made with a piece of cardboard sandwiched between the same fabric and a lid was attached with a hand embroidered hinge to the tube. Then we adorned the knitting needles carrier, because that was what they pretended to be, and our Mothers would get them every Mother's Day whether they knitted or not.
Memories. They made me smile thinking about the creativity even in those days, when there was no need but just respect for what it cost to put out a roll of toilette paper. So many trees...
Love as always to you and the beauties.

OH
MY
GOD.
That video was sobering.
And I had to smile at Allegra's comment. I made many a toilet paper hairbrush holder in my day. :)
